“My Name is Deborah and I work in Aged and Palliative Care, on the mid north coast of NSW.
When my mother died in Sydney last year, I had to organise the funeral and her affairs. My parents had been married for 60 years and my dad was devastate. They had lived on the Northern Beaches for the last 45 years. I wanted a service for her that was local and personal, and afterwards somewhere that family and friends could gather, where we could take time to reminisce and share our loss. However, the last thing I needed to worry about was cooking for and feeding our guests.
I will be forever grateful that I found Karin and her team. She organised everything – the food was beautiful, the atmosphere is so relaxed and all handled with compassion and understanding. I look back on that day now with a smile, knowing that my mum would have wanted it that way.
